Tag team members in a note

Have more questions? Submit a request

You can mention team members directly in a note using the @ symbol. When you tag someone, they’ll receive a notification in the Notifications panel on the Root Dashboard, making it easier to collaborate and respond in real time.

Add a note and tag a teammate

To tag someone in a note:

  1. Open the relevant Claim, Policy, Application or Complaint. For a detailed description of how to add a note in each of these domains, visit the following Help Centre guides:
  2. Click Create note in the top right corner.
  3. In the note field, type @ followed by the person’s name (e.g. @Joe Smith). As you type, suggestions will appear to help you select the right user.
  4. Complete your message, then click Add note.

What happens when you tag someone?

The person you tagged will receive an email notification to let them know that they've been tagged in a note.

If they're logged into the Root Dashboard, they will also see a notification pop-up in the top-right corner of the screen.

The same notification will appear in their Notifications panel, accessed via the bell icon on the left-hand menu.

Clicking Go to [domain] from the notification will take them directly to the tagged note.

Tagged notifications remain marked as unread until the user manually marks them as read.

Things to know

Users must have the right permissions to view the Notifications panel

These are managed under Organisation > Roles > Permissions > App notifications. Only users with access to the domain (like Policies or Claims) will be able to open the note and view its context.
