In this guide we will look at how to:

  • Open a claim
  • What to be aware of when entering the claim description

There are two different ways in which a claim can be opened. The first way we'll look at is via the Policy view.

To open a claim via the Policy view:

  1. Search for and open the policy that the claim is linked to.
  2. Click the Actions menu at the top of the policy.
  3. Click Open claim.

 4. Enter the details of the claimant. They will receive a notification, either by email or SMS, when the claim is opened.

5. The claim is now open, and you can enter the description of the claim. These details can be edited at any time, and do not have to be captured immediately.

A claim can also be opened via the Claims view:

1. Click New claim.

2. Enter the details of the claimant. They will receive a notification, either by email or SMS, when the claim is opened.

3. Select the policy that the claim is linked to. You can search by policy number, the policyholder name, or the policyholder ID.

 4. The claim is now open, and you can enter the description of the claim. These details can be edited at any time, and do not have to be captured immediately.

Capturing the Claim Description

After the claim has been opened, you will need to enter a description of the claim. This will include information around the incident that is being claimed for. The required information will depend on the product and the benefit that is being claimed. Any missing information can result in the claim not being approved.
