Edit your 2 factor authentication settings

To view and edit your 2 factor authentication settings, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Root dashboard.
  2. Click on the ⏺⏺⏺ icon in the blue navigation bar in the bottom left side of your screen.

 

  1. Click My account settings.

Select Security.Here you can choose whether you would like to edit your:

  • Password: Password when logging into Root.
  • 2 Factor authentication: Two-factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra verification step to your password with SMS-based OTPs.

 

If you have app-based 2FA enabled, the button under this heading will read Disable app-based 2FA. If not, it will read Enable app-based 2FA. You can click this button to update your 2FA settings. 

 

To enable your 2 factor authentication settings, follow these steps:

  1. Click Enable app-based 2FA.

  1. Enter the OTP that has been SMSed to you.

  1. Scan the QR code using the QR scanner within your authentication app.

  1. Enter the 6-digit verification code generated by the authentication app.
  2.  Click Enable.

 

To disable your 2 factor authentication settings, follow these steps:

  1. Click Disable app-based 2FA.
  2. Enter the 6-digit verification code generated by the authentication app.

  1. Click Disable

Note: If you disable app-based 2FA, OTPs will automatically be sent via SMS.
