Remove a beneficiary from a policy

Note: You can only remove a beneficiary if a policy has more than one beneficiary.

 

To remove a beneficiary to a policy, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Root dashboard.
  2. Click on the Policies icon in the blue navigation bar on the left side of your screen. 
  3. Search for and click on the policy that you want to add a beneficiary to. 

  1. Click on the Beneficiaries tab in the grey policy menu on the left of your screen.

  1. Under Beneficiaries, click Manage beneficiaries.
  2. Click on the bin icon next to the relevant beneficiary’s name.

  1. A pop up will ask "Are you sure you want to remove the beneficiary?", if you are sure, go ahead and click Yes, remove beneficiary button.

  1. Adjust the benefit percentage so that the total adds up to one hundred percent again, without doing this, you will not be able to save. Once this has been done, click Save.

Note: The beneficiary may be notified by either email or SMS if a change has been made. This depends on whether the beneficiary updated communication event is marked on or off for emails and SMS notifications for the product.
