Pending policy alterations

The Save and exit feature allows you to save a policy alteration in a pending state and return to it later to complete or cancel it. This feature automatically applies to all clients using policy-level alterations.

Note: The ability to process saved alterations is role-dependent. You will need specific alteration functionality permissions enabled on your role to use this feature. Contact your administrator if you do not have access.

To initiate a pending policy alteration

  • Log into your Root dashboard.
  • Click on the Policies icon in the blue navigation bar on the left side of your screen.
  • Search for and click on the relevant policy.
  • Click on the Actions menu and select the Alteration you want to process. In this example, it's Hook 1.

  • Process the alteration, but instead of confirming the alteration, click Save and exit.

  • Click Save and exit on the popup to confirm your choice.

  • Now you will see this pending alteration in the Alterations section of the policy.

To confirm a pending alteration

  • Log into your Root dashboard.
  • Click on the Policies icon in the blue navigation bar on the left side of your screen.
  • Search for and click on the relevant policy.
  • Click on Alterations in the left panel.

  • Click on the pending alteration to open it.
  • Review or edit the alteration as needed.
  • Select Confirm to apply the alteration.

To cancel a pending alteration

  • Log into your Root dashboard.
  • Click on the Policies icon in the blue navigation bar on the left side of your screen.
  • Search for and click on the relevant policy.
  • Click on Alterations in the left panel.

  • Click on Cancel button in the Action column.

  • And confirm by clicking Cancel alteration.

Permissions

Processing pending alterations requires specific permissions to be enabled on your role. To check or update permissions:

  • Click on the Organisation tab in the bottom left corner of your dashboard.
  • From the grey menu, select Roles.
  • Click on the relevant role and select Edit Role.
  • In the Permissions tab, ensure the relevant alteration functionality permissions are enabled.
  • Click Save to confirm your changes.
